The Screwtape Letters, by C. S. Lewis. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1942. First published in February 1942, this is the 8th print from August of the same year in a matching, unclipped dust wrapper.

Dedicated to Lewis's friend and colleague J.R.R. Tolkien, 'The Screwtape Letters' is a timeless classic on spiritual conflict and the invisible realities which are part of our religious experience.

Publisher's original cloth binding, clear label with title to spine that is a little ear marked to one corner. Binding shows light spotting, especially towards extremities, as well as light bumping to corners. Some foxing to edges and prelims. Hinges and joints strong with pages tightly bound. Small inscription in pen to FFEP and light spotting throughout, otherwise internally immaculate. In a good, unclipped dust wrapper showing price 5s. net to front flap, with slightly grubby and foxed panels, with tanning to spine, and a little shipping and loss to extremities. The dust jacket has now been placed in an archival sleeve.
