The Last Battle: A Story for Children, by C. S. Lewis. London: The Bodley Head, 1956. First edition, second printing 1958. Chronologically, the seventh and last book in the Chronicles of Narnia series. Publisher's blue cloth binding, silver lettering to spine, plain endpapers; in original, unclipped dust wrapper priced 9s 6d to front flap.

Bumping to corners, mild crushing to spine tips, extremities a little discoloured, heavy foxing to edges and prelims (particularly to last few pages), some penciled checkmarks to the list of titles on the half-title verso, and the blank FFEP has been removed from the book; else a clean, uninscribed copy. In a worn dust wrapper with a grubby rear panel on which the previous owner numbered the books in blue pen, foxing to both sides, chipping and a few closed tears to extremities, and a small portion of loss to the foot of the front panel; now placed in an archival wrapper.

A first edition, second printing copy of the story of the last war of Narnia, when King Tirian and his loyal followers fight the Calormene invaders and their allies; a conflict which leads to the end of the old world of Narnia and the beginning of a new adventure in Aslan's real country.
