A unique opportunity to acquire Folio Society's limited editions of Herodotus' The Histories and Thucydides' The Peloponnesian War, both in near-fine condition and both hand-numbered 671.

Overall NEAR-FINE condition for both. The Histories volume shows the usual wear to extremities caused by a slipcase that is too tight - perhaps showing a little more on this example than in other unread copies we have handled, but please study the pictures which show the level of rubbing; else a fine, as-new, unread copy, in like slipcase with a hint of shelf-wear. The Peloponnesian War is a new, unread copy in its original box; a fine copy in like slipcase, with only a couple of small spots of wear to the protruding extremities which inevitably rub slightly against the slipcase. It must be said, we have handled quite a few copies of the two editions in this series, and we have yet to find one that shows zero wear; their slipcases are usually just a tad too tight.
