Limited edition, hand-number 101 of only 250 numbered copies and 20 lettered copies Hors de Commerce. Signed on a tipped-in limitation by both Joyce Carol Oates and Angie Hoffmeister.
Introduced by Joyce Carol Oates, illustrated by Angie Hoffmeister. 222 × 144 × 26 mm. Pp. [i–vi] vii–xvi [xvii–xviii], [1–2] 3–206 [207–214]: [11] leaves of colour plates (facing pp. [v], 79 and 135, and between pp. 54–55, 110–111, [190]–191 and 206–[207]). Type: Arno with Zachar for display. Printed on Abbey Wove paper and bound by Graphicom in full dark blue cloth printed in cream and blocked in copper adapted from original design; dark blue endleaves with a spiral staircase design in metallic blue. Loosely inserted is a colour print with a further illustration contained in a protective blue paper wallet. Beautiful clamshell box bound in paper illustrated by Hoffmeister. In addition to the plates, Hoffmeister contributed tail-pieces for the nine chapters. Four of the plates are double-page spreads.
Fine book with pages tightly bound and free of any inscriptions. Acommpanied by a fine print. All contained in a fine clamshell box. A beautiful copy.
