The Folio Christmas Book, A Collection of Seasonal Stories and Poems. London: The Folio Society, 2000. First printing thus. With sixteen colour illustrations. 241 × 164 × 36 mm. Pp. [1–9] 10–348 [349–352]: [16] leaves of colour plates. Type: Bembo. Printed by the Saint Edmundsbury Press. Bound by Cambridge University Press in quarter red cloth, white paper boards with a design in colour and gold by John Holder; green endleaves. Green slip case. There are 23 stories, verses or playlets in the anthology, illustrated with 16 colour plates by 15 different artists. There are also monochrome drawings on pages 37, 137, 226, 272 and 294. The story ‘Christmas Eve at Bracebridge Hall’ by Washington Irving (pp. [27]–37) was published as a separate Christmas greeting in 1957.

Reading copy only. Light sunning to spine, a couple of spots of foxing to edges and a small hole in the plate opposite page 49; else clean, uninscribed and with pages tightly bound. In a very good slipcase that is lightly sunned to one panel.

Orders placed after 18:00 on a working day will be despatched within the next two working days. The shipping fee is calculated at check-out based on parcel weight and destination. A tracking number will be provided once the order is ready for despatch.

If you order items from our site for international delivery, please note that your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches your destination. Please note that we have no control over these charges and we cannot predict their amount. You will be solely responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes.

We do our best to describe items as accurately as possible. All our books can be returned within 14 days of receipt, whether they have been found to be not-as-described or you have simply changed your mind about the purchase. Returns are only free when items have been found to be not as described.
