LEWIS, C. S.  The Chronicles of Narnia.  Complete first edition, third printing (with the exception of The Last Battle which is second, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which is fifth) set of the author's best-selling work and one of the most beloved series of all time.

Octavo, seven volumes, original publisher's boards, each volume illustrated with plates, in-text illustrations and line drawings, and maps by Pauline Baynes, including colour where called for; in original dust jackets, all unclipped and correct for each volume, all now placed in archival sleeves. One of the finer sets we have handled of these increasingly-scarce first edition sets.

Comprising of:

  1. The Magician’s Nephew. London: The Bodley Head, 1960. First edition, third impression. Publisher’s green boards, spine lettered in silver; with unclipped dust jacket. Very good copy with mildest rubbing to extremities and only some foxing to the closed text block and prelims; in the slightly foxed dust jacket that is a little tanned to spine and with a small closed tear to front panel.
  2. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1961. First edition, fifth impression. Publisher's light blue boards, spine lettered in silver; in unclipped dust jacket. In the jacket with edges a little rubbed and chipped, spine slightly tanned and a longer closed tear to the bottom of the spine.
