LEWIS, C. S.  The Chronicles of Narnia.  Complete first edition, later printings set of the author's best-selling work and one of the most beloved series of all time. 

Octavo, seven volumes, original publisher's boards, each volume illustrated with plates, in-text illustrations and line drawings, and maps by Pauline Baynes, including colour where called for; in original dust jackets, all now placed in archival sleeves (any glare in photos is due to these). 

Comprising first editions, later impressions of:

1. The Magician’s Nephew. London: The Bodley Head, 1960. First edition, third impression. Publisher’s green boards, spine lettered in silver; with unclipped dust jacket. Light rubbing to spine tips, mild foxing to the closed text block, mild soiling to front and rear pastedowns, inscription to FFEP; else a clean and tightly-bound copy. In the slightly worn jacket with edges a tad rubbed and chipped, smallest loss to crown, and spine a little tanned.
2. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1958. First edition, fourth impression. Publisher's light blue boards, spine lettered in silver; in unclipped dust jacket. Light crushing and discolouration to spine tips, a little shallow bumping to corners, spine slightly discoloured, foxing to edges; else a clean and tightly- copy, with pages tightly bound. Unclipped jacket is a little grubby, has a few marks (including a coaster mark to rear), a lightly tanned spine, some nibbling to extremities and a small spot of loss to front panel.
3. The Horse and His Boy. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1968. First edition, seventh impression. Publisher’s dark brown boards, spine lettered in silver, map endpapers at front; with price-clipped dust jacket. Slight crushing to spine tips and a little rubbing to corners; else a clean and tightly-bound copy. In the jacket with edges a little rubbed and chipped, spine slightly tanned and extremities slightly darkened.
4. Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1969. First edition, seventh impression. Publisher's blue boards, silver lettering to spine, map endpapers at front; in the price-clipped dust jacket. Crushing to spine tips, heavy bumps to lower corners, slightest cocking to spine, moderate foxing to top edge and a little less to fore and bottom edges, heavier foxing to prelims, and a few rubbed and foxed patches to FFEP (as if a bookplate was not very cleanly removed); else a clean and tightly-bound copy. In the jacket with a little foxing and marking to panels, slightest tanning to spine and slight nibbling to extremities.
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1960. First edition, third impression. Publisher's light blue boards, silver lettering to spine, map endpapers to front; in the price-clipped dust jacket. Mild crushing and discolouration to spine tips and corners, extremities slightly darkened, a few spots of foxing to the closed text block, offsetting to prelims and a small name inscribed on half-title; else a very clean, tightly-bound copy. In the slightly worn jacket, tanned to spine and foxed to panels, nibbled to extremities with a few small tears, with a small name inscribed to front flap, and a small portion missing from the head of spine.
6. The Silver Chair. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1965. First edition, sixth impression. Publisher's navy blue boards, silver lettering to spine, map endpapers at front; in the unclipped dust jacket. Together with the original receipt of purchase and bookmark from George's Booksellers in Bristol, now unfortunately no longer a bookshop. Light bumping and discolouration to spine tips, a little foxing to edges and slight bowing to covers and cocking to spine, with a penned dedication to half-title dated Christmas 1967; else a clean and tightly-bound copy. In the dust jacket that is foxed to rear panel, tanned to spine and with a strip of discolouration to left and upper part of front panel, nibbled to extremities with some loss to spine tips, and minimal marking otherwise.
7. The Last Battle. London: The Bodley Head, 1964. First edition, fourth impression. Publisher's blue boards, silver lettering to spine; in the unclipped dust jacket. Bumping to front corner, mild crushing to spine tips, extremities a little discoloured, covers slightly bowed, a few marks to edges, some tidelines towards the gutter of the first 11 pages, spine break between pages 12 and 13; else a clean and uninscribed copy. In the jacket that is a little marked and spotted, with a few stains to rear that are slightly showing to front, with nibbling to extremities and tanning to spine.
