[i–vii] viii–xxvi, [1–3] 4–308 [309–310]: [1] colour plate (facing p. [iii]). Type: Garamond with Scrivano for display. Printed by Memminger Medien Centrum. Bound by Josef Spinner in full green cloth blocked in copper and brown with a design by Yehrin Tong; pale green endleaves. Green slip case. More than 150 photographs from the Gertrude Bell archive held by Newcastle University are reproduced in the text. The plate reproduces a watercolour by John Singer Sargent of two Bedouins. Accompanied by a folded map, reproduced from the first edition of 1907, cased in full green cloth blocked in copper with dimensions of 252 × 173 × 9 mm.
