Written in the second century AD, these 48 biographical essays continue to serve as a vital source on prominent Greek and Roman figures, ranging from Alexander the Great to Julius Caesar and Demosthenes to Cicero, capturing events and anecdotes absent from other contemporary records.
This is a set of four near-fine books with pages clean, bright and tightly bound. In like slipcase with a little shelf-wear that is ever-so-lightly bumped to rear; else fine. A beautiful set.
