222 × 144 × 18–19 mm. 3 vols (see below). Type: Garamond with Trajan for display. Printed and bound by C & C Offset in full cloth printed in black and blocked in silver with a design by Harry Brockway; white flecked endleaves. Dark grey cloth three-volume slip case (titled as above) in silver. Each volume includes five of Brockway’s black and white illustrations (one full-page and four half-page). The three volumes are as follows:

[1] Maigret and the Calame Report, translated by Moura Budberg, introduced by Julian Barnes, wood engravings by Harry Brockway. Pp. [i–iv] v–xv [xvi], [1–2] 3–160. Bound in green-blue cloth. First published in France in 1954 and Great Britain 1969.

[2] Maigret and the Saturday Caller, translated by Tony White, wood engravings by Harry Brockway. Pp. [i–iv], [1–2] 3–150 [151–156]. Bound in green cloth. First published in France in 1962 and Great Britain 1964.

[3] Maigret and the Wine Merchant, translated by Eileen Ellenbogen, wood engravings by Harry Brockway. Pp. [i–iv], [1–2] 3–162 [163–164]. Bound in pale brown cloth. First published in France in 1970 and Great Britain 1971

Condition

Very good books with minor creasing to spine tips, with pages tightly bound, clean and uninscribed. In very good slipcase with a little shelf-wear, as pictured, a shallow bump to a rear corner and a small, innocuous one to a front corner.
