Illustrated by Kay Nielsen. 2 vols (see below). Type: Caslon. Printed by Memminger MedienCentrum and bound by Real Lachenmaier. Blue-green buckram-covered clamshell box (titled as above) with gold paper lining. The two volumes are as follows:

[i–x], [1–2] 3–275 [276–278]: [12] leaves of colour plates (facing pp. [v], 8, 23, 47, 72, 94, 111, 135, 158, 179, 224 and 254). Title-page and decorative initials in red and black. The edition statement reads in part ‘limited to 980 numbered copies with 20 lettered copies hors de commerce’. Bound in full white buckram blocked in gold and printed in blue-green; white endleaves printed in gold and orange. The plates have been reproduced, from a copy of the first edition published in 1925, by Tag. Ten full-page black and white illus trations by Nielsen are also in the text. Contains 22 stories.

Sewn into paper wrappers, decorated with same design as the book’s endleaves, pasted label titled (as above). A pocket for the booklet is pasted in the box’s lining.
