The Folio Society Complete Elizabeth David Cookbook Collection (7v.). Illustrated by Sophie MacCarthy.
This is The Folio Society's complete (to date) collection of cookbooks from British cookery writer Elizabeth David, featuring colourful, pictorial boards. A rather joyful collection from the writer who influenced the revitalisation of home cookery in the UK. All seven books are in brand-new, sealed condition (the second photo is of another set we recently sold that was not sealed).
It took us a fair few months to be able to source all these titles in their original wrapping in order to have a complete, sealed set, and we hope it will bring much joy to the buyer. These books would make a wonderful gift, especially since they include one of the increasingly rarer books to come by (Elizabeth David's Christmas).
With the exception of French Country Cooking that has a light, discoloured, narrow strip on the left panel of its slipcase, all books are in perfect condition with no dings, dents or splits, and are sold as new.
The books:
2005 - A Book of Mediterranean Food. Introduced by Julian Barnes. 19 drawings by John Minton. Frontispiece and 8 full-page watercolours by Sophie MacCarthy. Quarter-bound in buckram, with textured white paper sides printed with a green, black and yellow design by Sophie MacCarthy. 265pp. 25.3x183.6cm.
