[i–iv] v–viii [ix–x], 1–80: [8] leaves of colour plates (facing pp. [i], 6, 23, 26, 43, 50, 54 and 63). Type: Garamond. Printed in green and black by Mackay, the lithographs by the Curwen Press. Bound by Mackay in green series binding. Dust-jacket printed in green and black. The costume and set designs were from Tyrone Guthrie’s production at the Old Vic in 1937.
Green cloth-covered binding presenting in original dust wrapper. Boards are near-immaculate with minimal marks and only a small ding at the bottom of the front board. Slight bumping at the base of the spine. In a good dust wrapper with bright panels and some chipping to head and base, including a larger tear at the back. Moderate foxing present, as seen in the photos. Inside, content is clean, legible and the book is complete. Mild foxing present, but no inscriptions and/or marginalia. Featuring wonderful designs by the famous English artist Oliver Messel.
