John Wyndham, Web. London: Michael Joseph, [1979]. First Edition, first impression.

The events depicted in Web are written from the viewpoint of Arnold Delgrange, a man whose wife and daughter were recently killed in a motor collision. They revolve around a failed attempt to establish a utopian colony on the fictional island Tanakuatua in the Pacific Ocean, far from civilisation.

Condition

Publisher's original binding with mild rubbing and bumping to extremities. Title on spine lightly worn off in places. Some foxing amd marking on the text block and on the outter pages. A previously repaired example based on signs visibile between paste-down endpaper and FFEP. Ex-library stamp to title page and inscription in pen "02". Otherwise no inscriptions or marginalia, but there are light handling marks to various pages, including some bigger ones on page 163. Comes in a good, unclipped dust wrapper with bright panels. Genre label stuck to where the publisher should be at the tail of the spine; unfortunately cannot come off without significant rubbing/and or tearing. Some chipping to head and base of the dust jacket, and minimal loss present. Please note the dust jacket has, where previously torn, been professionally repaired with strong, acid-free non-yellowing, transparent document repair tape.
