Poets' Country. Edited by Andrew Lang. London: T. C. & E. C. Jack, [1907]. Illustrated by Francis S. Walker with 50 beautiful, colour plates protected by tissue guards, as called for. First edition copy. Pp. xiv, 363.

A wonderful, heavy volume tracing the relation of poets with the aspects of their homes and countries, or with the scenes where they built their homes. The images within the book are of places associated with the poets either through their lives or scenes that are sources of inspiration.

Condition

Publisher's original cloth binding, beautifully decorated with gilt lettering and decoration in green to front board and spine. Externally in good condition, however with some edgewear, discolouration and very light soiling in places. Corners and spine tips bumped. Binding is fragile and lightly shaken, with hinges starting to break and exposing the netting. Foxing to some pages and an inscription in pencil to FFEP that could not be fully erased. Plates in wonderful condition with all content clean and legible. Complete example.
