France Son Histoire by Georges Montorgueil. Paris: Librairie Félix Juven, [Undated]. The history of France, written for children, illustrated by Job. In the original French. Early edition. Large, 35.8 x 29 cm.

[together with]

La Cantinière by Georges Montorgueil. Paris: Charavay, Mantoux, Martin, [Undated]. A colourfully illustrated history of the cantiniere during the Napoleonic Wars, illustrated by Job. In the original French. Early edition. Large, 35.8 x 29 cm.

Both books have been visibly re-backed with new cloth spines and original spines superimposed (now peeling away ever-so-slightly). Good condition overall. Externally, there is significant wear and bumping to spine tips, corners and extremities, some staining and marking throughout. Edges are originally coloured red, but are somewhat discoloured and marked. Hinges seem to have been repared with the original endpapers preserved. Small penned inscription to FFEP on 'France Son Histoire', and penned inscription to half-title page on 'La Cantiniere'. There is foxing throughout in both books, with many page chips and small, closed tears, including a couple of large page closed tears in 'France Son Histoire'. Text and illustrations remain legible throughout with no loss; complete examples, with a price to hopefully reflect condition.
