The present edition is based on that published by George Harrap and Company in 1919, with an additional illustration for ‘The Pit and the Pendulum’ taken from an edition of 1933. In addition to Clarke’s remarkable art nouveau illustrations, there are two head-pieces and numerous grisly tail-pieces for the stories.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA good copy, with spine tips a little crushed and the label on the front board very mildly worn to upper extremity; else a clean, tightly-bound copy, with pages uninscribed.
