The ‘plates’ reproduce etchings and wood-engravings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with new maps, drawings and photographs commissioned by Folio. This was the first title in a series of Classical and mythological texts, all published in a uniform style (see also items 756, 790, 812, 853, 858, 954, 957, 987, 1039, 1072, 1107, 1155, 1195, 1252 and 1308 in the Folio Bibliography). \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA damaged copy suitable only as a reading one, with the text block slightly slipped into the lower part of the casing and detached completely from the rear cover and spine.
