Type: Baskerville. Printed by Memminger MedienCentrum. Bound by Real Lachenmaier in full blue buckram blocked in cream, red and black with design by Neil Gower. Endleaves printed with images from Layard’s The monuments of Nineveh, second series (1849–1853). Red slip case. The plates reproduce a selection of Layard’s drawings and photographs of items from the British Museum’s Assyrian collection. In addition, black and white illustrations accompany the text throughout. Two maps and three plans redrawn by Gower are between pages [610–619].
The book is in fine condition. No signs of wear or rubbing to the edges of the binding. The binding is tight. Internally immaculate. The slipcase is in fine condition. No faults, no bumped corners, only minor shelf-wear marks.
