A pencilled inscription to the offset front free endpaper, and a mark to the verso of the title page where a previous owner appears to have used white correction fluid to erase an inscription. A nice, clean copy that lacks the usual foxing throughout.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMontague Rhodes James (1862-1936) is commonly considered the founding figure of the modern ghost story genre.
